On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2017, we organized The NCPEDP-AIF-Petroleum Walk To Freedom on 3rd December at India Gate celebrating the 1st year anniversary of the landmark Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016 by launching a nationwide Campaign on this day around the theme, ‘Celebrating Inclusion’ to spread awareness & to ensure the proper implementation of the provisions of the RPWD Act 2016. The event was sponsored by ONGC and co-organized by the American India Foundation (AIF) in partnership with Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), MSJE, United Nations India, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and National Association of the Deaf (NAD). Commemorating 20 years of the Disability Act 1995, NCPEDP celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2015 under the Equality+20 Campaign which included the ‘Signs of the Times’ Logo Competition, publication of a book titled, ‘20 Stories of Change’, the Equality+20 Conference and The Walk To Freedom.
