MindTree Consulting Private Limited: Rooted in care

K.S. Chetan, who has cerebral palsy, designed the logo of MindTree Consulting. Here he is seen with the CEO., S. Bagchi.Busy with software development, Bangalore-based MindTree Consulting Private Limited has branched out in various countries; yet its people have never forgotten the needs of others.

The logo of a company is always designed with a lot of thought and care. For, it showcases the company’s values and beliefs to the outside world. So it was, that, before its inception over two years ago, MindTree Consulting turned to an organisation on whom it had full faith: the Spastics Society of Karnataka. The designer: 17-year-old K.S. Chetan, who has cerebral plasy. Chetan created a blue brushstroke that reached to the sky, with bubbles of bright yellow around it. The logo was attractive and in keeping with the company’s vision of a strong imagination, action and a sense of joy. Another spin-off for the young designer: A meeting with Bill Clinton.

As MindTree Consulting pursues its goal of becoming one of the world’s leading software consultancy firms, it has freely interacted with the children of the Spastics Society. The walls of MindTree House are decorated with paintings, and the children, along with their families, are encouraged to participated in the programmes organised here.

In addition , MindTree Consulting buys its greeting cards from the Society, supports the projectsof its Creative Art Unit, and has also given it stoke options in the company. A video conference was arranged between the senior students of the Society and children with cerebral plasy at Lakeview School in New Jersey, USA. Mind Tree Consulting is involved in the constuction of two classrooms for a village school in Karnataka, its building are accessible to disabled persons, it has seven disabled employees, and has pledged a substantial portion of its net profits towards improving primary education in India.

MindTree derives its name from Manuvriksha, mentioned in the Upanishads. It symbolises the “eternal giver of intellectual response”. It dose seem that the company’s responses are sensitive to the needs of others, providing both, succour and shelter.
