K. Ramkrishna: Rhythm of success
He
is visually impaired, uses a speech synthesizer, yet 51-year-old K. Ramkrishna,
General Manager, Industrial Development Bank of India (I.D.B.I.), Mumbai, has
orchestrated his life harmoniously.
Music and management appear to be the two guiding forces in K. Ramkrishna's life. As a young boy, K. Ramkrishna developed a taste for Namasankirtan and he continues to be a follower of this divine form of bhakti. He conducts this kirtan in Sanskrit, Hindi, Marathi and four South Indian languages.
The strings of K. Ramkrishna's existence are many, all resonating to varied tunes. He is the firstvisually impaired person in India to have completed his MBA, specialising in Finance. Today, his job profile involves the commercial appraisal of industrial projects.
He is the Honorary Secretary of the National Association
for the Blind, India, and a visiting faculty member of S.P. Jain Institute of
Management and Research. He has been recently conferred the All India Confederation
of the Blind
Millennium Award.
Carnatic devotional music, abhangs, and the gentle strains of the sitar combine to bring the sound of music into K. Ramkrishna's life, and to the lives of those around him.
