N.C.P.E.D.P. Education Unit
Creating knowledge opportunities for a successful life

One of the advertisements from the recent education campaign that was launched on India's Independence Day 2004.It has been N.C.P.E.D.P’s endeavour to help create successful lives, through education, for persons with disabilities. Education is a powerfully enabling tool; it gives people the opportunity to not only be better informed and do well in life, but it also gives them the weapon with which to challenge prejudice and injustice, to become part of the mainstream, to become visible.

N.C.P.E.D.P. has initiated a number of scholarship schemes, and created numerous partnerships with public and private sector organisations. It has campaigned for accessible education and infrastructure for persons with disability. It has conducted audits and surveys of educational institutions, and has not hesitated to launch advocacy campaigns for the rights of disabled people to accessible education.

N.C.P.E.D.P’s most recent initiative – a campaign for inclusive education – was unveiled on India’s 58th Independence Day. The campaign aims to inform and influence policy makers.
